This week I have been teaching a photography workshop for Auburn University’s School of Industrial and Graphic Design. This is the first year they are conducting an International Creative Exchange– four students from China are participating in a 3-week workshop focusing on the interaction between Eastern and Western design processes and aesthetics. On Monday, I took the students to the adjacent town of Opelika to explore the downtown area and to make some images. I had a great time getting to know the students and so did many of the local business owners as we popped in and out of their shops to briefly occupy their air-conditioned spaces. Today, we will look at the images the students made and experiment with manipulation.
